Dr. June D’Souza reminds pet owners that tick bites can lead to lyme disease. Veterinarians deal with the highest number of tick bites and lyme cases in the spring. Enjoy the outdoors, but protect yourself by using tick repellent, avoiding tall grass and covering up as much as you can. Ticks like to bite dogs around the neck and in their armpit and groin areas. Checking for ticks on yourself and your pet after being outside is imperative.
